I’m going to be honest with all of you – I’m not sure how “festival” looks really differ from my every day looks. But I think that it’s a fun way for me to talk about having a little 70’s hippy wild flower soul without sounding like I recently re-discovered marijuana so I’m going to go with it!
You guys saw my little fringe boots in nearly every outfit post I put up this winter. They were kind of my saving grace for feeling warm and sunny while the weather was nasty and cold. Leather, suede, fringe, they all remind me of dusty roads and hot days. Over the last season I’ve been trying to incorporate more of these materials to help me feel a little bit more connected with mother nature, even when she’s hibernating. It’s worked! Putting on a leather jacket, or having a cute leather rucksack to throw on actually makes me feel like I’m headed outdoors. And outdoors is where I feel good, where I feel myself.
It’s funny how little style things like this can make you feel so different. I have been guilty of making fun of overly used “aesthetics”, but some times things just make us feel good. We can throw something on that reminds of our favorite weather, or our favorite event, maybe even our favorite place, and it makes us peaceful. We get to have an outward reflection of the things that feel good to us. That’s pretty cool.
So here’s to hippy vibes, and awesome stores like Boohoo that help me find ways to make my style reflect my earth baby spirit. I’m into it.
