Plus Size Maternity || Fatgirlflow.com

So you’re fat and pregnant! Congratulations! You’ve now reached the 3rd level of clothes shopping hell that is reserved for those of us who dare to ever think that maybe we could have an adorable plus size pregnancy. Achievement unlocked!

While researching places to shop for plus size maternity the overwhelming response was “just buy things bigger, and plan on feeling totally left out of the preggo-belly-cuteness”. I’m going to get real with you all for a moment here – I plan on having a baby at some point in my life. And I’m pretty aware that pregnancy probably isn’t going to be very fun for me, because I’m just that kind of person. I don’t deal well with change, I get anxious when my body does things I don’t understand, and I’m pretty fucked up about going to doctor. So the thought of not having something cute to dress up in, even if I only

wear it on my couch, is heart breaking. I have a feeling I’m not the only person feeling that way, too.

So this one is for a little glimmer of hope for current (or future) pregnant babes. If you need more support, make sure you check out PlusSizeBirth.com and their amazing Plus Size Pregnancy Course!  Peace and love to all of you on your beautiful journey!

Isabel Maternity at Target

This is a brand new addition to our list (September 2018) and I could not be more excited about it! The new Isabel Maternity line at Target is small but inclusive and packs quite the punch for a little line of maternity clothes! They have pieces that are cozy and sweet, and chic and fashionable. It’s perfect for the expecting parent! Sizes go up to 4x or 26-28 and start around $20.

Yours Clothing

I honestly felt like I had hit gold when I found out Yours Clothing had a special little “bump it up” maternity section. They have such great (and on trend) staple pieces for parents-to-be. With sizes up to 30, you have got to bookmark this store as a maternity go-to. And the prices are super reasonable too!

Kohls has a surprising amount of really fun and cute plus size maternity options. They are definitely what I would consider a “go to” destination for plus size babes carrying a little love bug. They have the earth-mother-goddess trends on point and they even carry some plus size maternity swimwear!

Macy’s offers a limited, but on trend, stock of plus size maternity clothing. Most of the styles are appropriate for daily wear and you can find so many items on sale! Because Macy’s is a big store with a big selection, it’s also worth your time to check out the standard plus size section to look for flowy empire waist tops and long length basics. Sizes go up to 3x.

Pink Blush Maternity

What a breath of fresh fat hippy air. This line is the stuff my little fat pregnant dreams are made of. There’s not a huge selection, but there are enough cute pieces to make you think being dressing you and your little baby bump won’t be a nightmare. The prices are reasonable too!!! Sizes up to 3X, prices around $40.

Dear Kates

Technically, this store is more focused around undergarments than it is clothing, I just love them so much I have to add them here. I’m no pregnancy expert, but from what I know things can get a bit damp in the nether regions when you’re with child. Dear Kate’s were created with the intention of being the perfect “period panty” and have this amazing stain releasing, moisture absorbent lining. You better bet your pregnant ass I’m going to have several on hand when I get knocked up! Sizes up to 3x (all styles), prices start around $30.

Motherhood Maternity

This is the store that I think most people know about. Carrying up to sizes 3X, with prices around $40, this shop has been a maternity staple for many parents. Because they cater to maternity they are on trend and make really comfortable pieces that just make sense.

Cezara – Plus size belly support panty up to 5x
Sears – a surprisingly large selection of plus size maternity in sizes up to 30 and prices starting around $20

PlusSizeBirth.com is an amazing resource for body positive pregnancy and a community of fat babes interested in all things babies! If you have any suggestions for other places please let me know in the comments!

Thank you so much for this! Fat and pregnant here, and desperate for something to make this final stretch (4-6 weeks) a little more bearable. I’ve made do so far with pants from Motherhood and my pre-pregnancy 2x men’s shirts from Target (because that’s where the cool character tees are), but I am about to pass beyond what those shirts can handle. The PinkBlush stuff looks adorable — I’m so excited to shop now!

If ever you find a place that sells dresses dressy enough for a shower with the country club crowd, but not full on formal, charge $1 a head to disclose the site; you’ll be RICH, because you’ll be the only one to know about it. I have so much fat pregnant rage right now … it’s not as cute as it sounds.

Sigh. This is great if you’re in under a 3X. Not so much for me. I still have ZERO options.

I can’t even imagine how hard it must be to be pregnant and have such limited options, I’m so sorry. I promise any time I hear about stores carrying maternity over 3x I will be ALL OVER IT <3

I just ordered from Yours Clothing. I wear a 28 pants and 4x shirt. I ordered the size 28/30 option and they fit perfectly! I’m so so so happy that I found this blog and that Yours Clothing was mentioned. It is a UK based site, so make sure you click the USA conversion button at the top. Shipping takes a while, too. Prices were pretty reasonable! Good luck and happy shopping!!

How long did the shipping take? I ordered three weeks ago from yours clothing I still haven’t received my order. Curious on the time frame

Yours Clothing has some options that go up to a US size 28-30 (which I think is equivalent to 4X-5X according to size charts online, correct me if I’m wrong). You can check them out here http://www.yoursclothing.com/maternity-20

THANK YOU! I almost cried when I read through this and went onto the Pink Blush site. I’m pregnant with my second child and the first time around was torture trying to find maternity clothes that fit me. I felt horrible about myself and spent most of my pregnancy hiding out at home because I had 2 pairs of giant yoga pants and oversized t-shirts that fit my huge belly, but weren’t good for going out anywhere. I’m not only a 3x in size, but I’m almost 6ft, so clothes shopping in general sucks, let alone maternity shopping. I just ordered a cute dress, jeans and a sweater and I’m so excited. Your other recommendations are on my list to check out too. Thank you so much!

Hi Girls! Not actually officially “maternity” plus size clothing but the best options I’ve found as a size 28/30 pregnant have been:
    1. Making It Big: goes up to 8x & many tunics that work for maternity wear
    2. Woman Within: they also have some flowing a line tops that work for maternity
    3. BBW Boutique: they have some very spacious clothing options with loose designs that work for maternity wear
    4. Sealed With A Kiss: they have a super stretchy wide waistband fold over maxi skirt, & a palazzo pants with the same waistband up to a 6x which works as maternity wear, as well as their Classic Maxi Dress works well, it’s pleated and very full around.

I wish Torrid or Lane Bryant or… Anyone (!) would design & sell a basic maternity plus size line available for over 3x!!! I’d be thrilled with: 1. Pants in black, 2. maxi skirt in black, 3. a few simple tops, 4. A jacket. Anything else would be bonus. It’s really, really needed!!

I would add Belevations. They make great support undergarments and panties for pregnancy. And with PinkBlush check back often. They’re stock changes weekly and they have limited quantities.

Your site has been a god send! I’m on pregnancy #4 and after living in the same maternity clothes for the past three I really need some new clothes. Our stores around here aren’t very plus size friendly so I’ve been dreading having to shop. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!

I was excited about Pink Blush and placed an order for a few dresses. None were actually maternity, though that’s how they were labeled. All three were also very poor quality. So sad! Just wanted to share a warning about ordering from there.

I’m size 24/26 and have found the easiest clothes to be stretchy maxi skirts paired with ruched side tops and tanks, along with a couple open front cardis. I can mix and match and everything grows with me. Motherhood Maternity’s maxi’s are super stretchy and the 3x could easily work for up to size 30/32!

Thank you for this list! I am a little over halfway through my pregnancy and, like you’re not supposed to say, am hating virtually every moment of it. I have had a terrible time finding clothing! Particularly, for work. I don’t even want to go out much because I feel like I don’t have anything I can wear. I am right on the border between regular misses and plus size, so up until now I have been able to get away with buying mostly misses, but am so stressed about what is up ahead. I will say, of the mainstream department stores, JCPenney has had the most plus sized options that don’t just look like sacks. However, they’re sizes are kind of limited because they tend to only have one size left in stock with each item (at least by time I have looked). Thanks again.

Not specifically maternity, but many are empire waisted, and all styles can be customized to your measurements. eShakti.com
Super cute stuff, and I think they go up to a 30, but double check me on that!

Thank you so much for this post! I was really struggling to find plus sized maternity clothes I could wear to work. I am in LOVE with Yours Clothing. What great quality and they are so comfortable! I have already received two orders from them. One tip – if you live in the US and are used to getting orders right away, pay extra for shipping. Both times I have paid the $5.00 shipping and it takes almost three weeks for the order to arrive. Thank you again!

OK does anyone know where I can get a plus sized maternity coat and not spend a fortune? I had one in my cart on old navy this weekend and by the time I went to buy it wasn’t available… GRRRR.
